Chapel Presenter: Matt Litson
Matt grew up in a small farm town in western Kansas, almost dead center of the United States. He was saved at Treasure Mountain Bible Camp in Marble, Colorado a year after graduating high school. He felt the call of God on his life for missions during a teen conference in Oklahoma and started Bible College just a few months after getting saved. He met his wife Sarah during college and together they began to make plans for a life of ministry in West Africa. During his time in college and over the next 25 years of ministry Matt has had many opportunities to preach at church camps and teen retreats. Both have held a special place in his heart as it was these two meetings that the Lord used to completely transform his life and give him direction that he had been looking for.
Chapel Topic: A thought the Lord gave Matt for the teen retreat this year comes from Matthew 11 :29-30 where Jesus tells us « Take my yoke upon you…for my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. » We all carry some type of load in life, and the Lord never promises to remove that burden completely. He simply promises that with Him it will be much easier and substantially lighter.
